We often hear the word “repentance” in a negative way … that somehow we are simply to feel bad about what we have done and about who and what we are.
Repentance is not about feelings, but about a new mindset. The Greek word ‘metanoia’ means ‘to change the mind’ or to ‘change one’s thinking.’ This change of mind happens only when we know the truth, and that truth is the truth of scripture.
The occasion of this service is Ash Wednesday, an evening service at First Presbyterian.
Ash Wednesday is the first day of a 40 day countdown to Easter – a Season called LENT – a time of spiritual focus and growth. Make your Lent worthwhile by starting right and starting tomorrow. Don’t miss a single day.
